Choosing Your Artwork

What is the difference between size A4 and A3?

Size A4: recommended starting size for beginners (~1h crafting time); 210×297 mm (8.3×11.7 in), comparable to US Letter (8.5×11 in). Tabletop stand included, ideal for desks, shelves and smaller walls.

Size A3: offers a larger, more detailed making experience (~2h crafting time); 297×429 mm (11.7×16.5 in), twice the size of A4. Designed for wall hanging with wall-mounting accessories, ideal for a more prominent wall display.

Which size is best for beginners?

A4 is the best place to begin. It is easier to complete in shorter sessions (~1h crafting time) while still creating a substantial artwork for display.

What is the difference between Chromatic and Qinghua porcelain?

Chromatic porcelain brings together varied colors for a lively, contemporary effect. Qinghua porcelain uses blue-and-white fragments for a quieter palette inspired by traditional blue-and-white ceramics.

Can every design be made with either porcelain style?

Most standard designs can be made in either Chromatic or Qinghua porcelain. If a particular design is available in only one palette, this will be shown on its product page.

DIY Kits

What age is the kit suitable for?

The kit is intended for kids, teens and adults. Younger makers should work only with close adult supervision because it contains small pieces and real porcelain tesserae although they are trimmed smoothly.

Are the porcelain tesserae sharp?

Not at all. The tesserae are selected and carefully trimmed by hand, but they are still real porcelain. Handle them thoughtfully, keep them away from babies and follow the safety guidance.

Is a frame included?

Yes. Please check the “What’s included” section on the individual product page before ordering.

How do I access the video tutorial?

The tutorial link is provided with your order so you can follow the process at your own pace. Keep the link for reference while you make your artwork.

Is the kit suitable for beginners?

Yes. No previous mosaic experience is required. The kit is designed as a guided, approachable introduction to porcelain mosaic making.

What is included?

Each kit includes the prepared design base, photo frame, hand-selected porcelain tesserae, glue and the project guidance needed for the selected design. Check the product page for the exact contents of your kit.

Do I need grout or filler?

No. The artwork is designed around a simple grout-free process, so there is no filler, putty or messy finishing stage.

How long does it take?

Making time depends on the size, design and your pace. A4 is suited to shorter creative sessions (~1h crafting time), while A3 generally takes longer (~2h crafting time) and allows more detail.

Finished Art

How long does studio production take?

The current studio production estimate is included in the shipping time on product page. Handmade and customized pieces may require additional time before dispatch.

Is every artwork handmade?

Yes. Every finished artwork is assembled by hand in the studio using individually selected porcelain tesserae.

Will my artwork look exactly like the photograph?

The overall design and palette will remain consistent, but the shapes, markings and placement of real porcelain tesserae naturally vary. Those differences make each piece one of a kind.

Does it arrive framed?

Yes. Framing and display details are listed on each product page. Please review the selected artwork’s specifications before ordering.

Is it ready to hang?

Each finished artwork’s display method is stated on its product page. If hanging hardware is included, it will be noted in the product details.

Custom Orders

Can custom orders be returned?

Because custom work is created specifically for you, it is generally final sale once the approved design enters production. If you proposed dissatisfaction after three rounds of revisions and decided to request a refund, we would only refund 20% of the order amount, as costs associated with design, production, and communication have already been incurred.

Any damage or production issue will still be reviewed and supported.

How long does customization take?

Timing depends on the image, size and whether you choose a DIY kit or finished artwork. You will receive an estimated design and production timeline when confirming the order.

What images work best?

Clear images with a strong silhouette, a focused subject and limited background detail translate best into porcelain mosaic. We can advise if an image needs simplification. If your image is unsuitable, we will contact you before design work begins.

Will I receive a preview?

After reviewing the images and requirements you provided, we will create a demo sample based on the order sequence and share photos of it with you for confirmation. You are entitled to three rounds of reasonable revisions before the final design is approved.

How many revisions are included?

You are entitled to three rounds of reasonable revisions before the final design is approved. Additional changes may require an extra design fee.

Can you reproduce my photograph exactly?

Porcelain mosaic is an interpretation rather than a photographic reproduction. We preserve the subject’s essential form and feeling while adapting detail to the material.

Why custom DIY Kit is more expensive than custom finished art?

For custom products, each artwork requires a complete design process and verification of the final visual outcome. Consequently, even though the final product delivered is a DIY kit, we must first create a finished version and then prepare the kit based on that result; this entails a more extensive process and greater material usage.
